Welcome to the Nordic Spirit,
with the unique and natural Finnish berries.
Berry picking trips are a tradition in most Finnish families, as it was in ours. We put our boots on, grabbed a bucket and headed into the woods, returning hours later with our buckets full of beautiful ripe berries. This went on from midsummer until late fall, since each berry has its own ripening season.
Later on, as a busy working mother, I was constantly trying to find quick ways to prepare healthy food, like so many other Moms. Berries are low in calories and high in fiber and nutrients, so they make an excellent addition to snacks and meals. But are all the berries actually good for you?
I find the amount of additives and pesticides in regular berries quite alarming. It’s not, however, easy to find natural berries in stores, and organic berries tend not to last for more than a few days.
I started to use berry powders when my children were still small. They are safe, natural, and extremely easy to use. We used to have our ‘berry yogurt snack times’. It was so much fun for the kids to prepare different kinds of flavoured yogurts. And what could be better than keep them busy and have them eat a healthy snack as well.
I personally like to keep the powders in pretty glass jars which show their individual colours and make them even more tempting.
Our berry powders are manufactured by Mahevi, one of the biggest drying companies in Europe.
